Asset/Attribute Surveys
Met
Geo Environmental Ltd has specialised in
designing bespoke surveys to capture asset and
attribute data since 1997.
We work in partnership with all clients
to ensure a specification is agreed and met. We
will then design a bespoke software solution to
simplify the collection, processing and
dissemination of data for all involved. The
solution is designed to aid the collection and
capture of information on site using handheld
computer technologies. Tailored software allows
the surveyor to pick up and record as much or as
little information as required for each
property. This information is then provided to
the client in a format specified by them. This
may be a detailed 2D or 3D AutoCAD DWG file, a
spreadsheet or a database e.g. MS SQL, Access or
MySQL.
Asset
Surveys
Met
Geo Environmental have collected asset data
including:
- Office furniture; desks, chairs, filing cabinets, storage, etc.
- White goods; fridges, microwaves,
cookers, etc.
- IT equipment; PC’s, monitors,
network sockets, wireless access points,
etc.
- Fire Protection equipment; fire
extinguishers, smoke alarms, heat
detectors, etc.
- Security equipment; PIR sensors,
pressure mats, video cameras, etc.
- Laboratory equipment; benches, fume
cupboards, biowaste bins, etc.
- HVAC equipment; radiators, heaters,
boilers and air conditioning.
- Lighting & power; luminaires,
sockets, switches, etc.
We will help develop specifications and
detail deliverables if the client needs
assistance. All surveyors are CRB checked and
projects are managed professionally, ensuring
liaison with stakeholders at all times, often in
sensitive environments.
Attribute Surveys
Typically required by facilities managers and clients prior
to refurbishment and, increasingly, where contracts have
been placed in abeyance due to prevailing financial conditions,
detailed attribute surveys are carried out in order to
identify fixtures, fittings and finishes of building components.
Often working alongside our Measured Building Survey Teams, the
Attribute Surveyor will record any information required, for
example, wall type (external/internal/solid/partition), Wall
finish, floor finish, ceiling finish, door type, door furniture
etc. All information can be provided on an individual component
basis, e.g. wall by wall. Photographic evidence is also supplied
in the majority of cases for each element in the final package.
Building Information
Modelling (BIM)
Viewed as the way forward for future
construction projects, Building Information
Modelling (BIM) is the process of generating and
managing building data during its life cycle.
Typically it uses three-dimensional, real-time,
dynamic building modeling software like Autodesk
REVIT, to increase productivity in building
design and construction. The process produces
the Building Information Model (also abbreviated
BIM), which encompasses building geometry,
spatial relationships, geographic information,
and quantities and properties of building
components. Met Geo Environmental Ltd is at the forefront
of this technology and is constantly looking at
ways to add value for clients. Met Geo Environmental is
researching ways to add building component data
to existing buildings using a combination of
traditional surveying methods, 3D laser
scanning, attribute survey data and telematics. |
