Met Surveys Acquires JSM Designs
Met Surveys Ltd, a UK market leader in land, building and geophysical surveying, has completed the acquisition of Leeds-based civil and structural engineering and transport consultancy, JSM Designs Ltd.
The acquisition enhances both Met Surveys engineering and surveying departments and its strategic development of new markets.
Neil Harvey, Chairman at Met Surveys commented; "We have been looking to strengthen our proposition in a number of key areas such as social housing, and with its stronghold in both the public and private sector JSM Designs brings us compatible skills sets, experience and clients.
JSM Designs provide a range of engineering based services including feasibility studies, flood risk assessments, highways, drainage, foundation and structures design as well as general site advice.
JSM's experience of structural surveying in public sector housing has been an immediate assistance to Met Surveys Decent Homes division, expanding capacity to support the completion of local authority stock option appraisals ahead of the Decent Homes Standard deadlines imposed by CentralGovernment.
Andy King, Director at JSM Designs confirms; "This is an exciting opportunity for JSM. The acquisition will introduce our business to new markets and expand the range of services and products we are able to offer to our customers."
The acquisition of JSM and the new 11,000, sq ft office accommodation and warehousing in Stourton, Leeds, where both companies are now based, represents a £2 million investment value.
Between them, Met Surveys and JSM now employ a workforce of around 70, making it one of the largest independent surveying and engineering specialists in the North East. |
